There are many kinds of metal faced sandwich panels on the market, with different advantages and disadvantages. How to choose them has become a difficult problem. This paper attempts to make a simple distinction from the following aspects.
1. According to the metal surface materials on both sides, it is usually thin steel plate with color coating (referred to as color steel plate), galvanized iron plate, stainless steel plate, antistatic plate and corrosion-resistant plate can also be seen. The nominal thickness of metal surface material is generally 0.5 ~ 0.7 mm.
The most commonly seen in the market is the commonly known color steel plate. It needs to first surface treat the thin steel plate substrate, apply a special coating (the front of the substrate needs to be coated with at least two layers), and finally bake and solidify it, so that it has good corrosion resistance and decoration.
2. According to core materials, it can be divided into molded polystyrene foam board (EPS), extruded polystyrene foam board (XPS), rigid polyurethane foam board (PU), rock wool board (RW), slag wool board (SW), glass wool board (GW), paper honeycomb core board, aluminum honeycomb core board, gypsum board, glass magnesium board, etc. Two different core materials can also be combined. The common ones are rock wool + glass magnesium board or rock wool + gypsum board. There are both single-sided and double-sided stacked ones. It is usually used in occasions where strength or fire resistance needs to be increased.
3. According to the production process, it can be divided into machine-made board and manual board. Among them, the mechanism is relative to manual work, and manual boards also need to be machined. It is distinguished according to the number of processes requiring manual operation and some accompanying characteristics.
The machine-made board has the advantages of one-time molding, short production cycle, fast production speed and relatively low price. At the same time, the two metal panels are connected with the frame keel by bite, which is relatively firm. However, due to the limitation of processing equipment, the size cannot be customized at will, and the core material of the machine-made plate in the width direction will be exposed to the outside, so it cannot be used in places with high cleanliness requirements.
4. According to size: several standards have been formed for the development of metal faced sandwich panels, including 0.5, 0.75, 1.00 mm metal surface thickness, 0.25, 0.35, 0.45, 0.55, 0.60, 1.50 mm and other special specifications. The common plate widths are 980 mm, 1180 mm (manual plate), 950 mm, 1150 mm (machine plate), and can also be made into any width of 900 mm ~ 1200 mm according to customer requirements. The length of the plate is generally ≤ 6 m.
